The 1015 iTunes restore error is a common error faced by many iPhone users. There is a particularsolution for the 1015 error after the 4.2.1 iOS enabled phone has been jailbroken. This error is not related to telephony software and is mostly encountered when restoring iTunes on the iPhone. It is quite simple to fix the 1015 error on a jailbroken iPhone. The solution for the error is straight-forward and it requires an update to the Hosts file. Administration rights or super-user privileges may be required to make changes to the Hosts file. Changes to the Hosts file can be made through a Windows PC or a Mac. 

Solution for error 1015 after jailbreak 4.2.1 iOS

Error 1015 is a common error for users who have jailbroken their iPhone running iOS 4.2.1. This tutorial will show you how to fix it. 

• When you get a message telling you about the problem, click "OK" and close iTunes

Steps to avoid error 3194: 

Windows:

• From the Start menu, locate Notepad, right click and select "Run as administrator"
• Enter your administrator password
• In Notepad, click "File > Open" and navigate to the folder C: \ Windows \ System32 \ drivers \ etc and select the Hosts file
  • If Notepad can not find your Hosts file, select "All Files" instead of "Files text (*. txt)"
• In the Hosts file, add "74.208.10.249 gs.apple.com" at the end (if you already have an online gs.apple.com delete it), save the file, and exit Notepad

Mac OS X:

• Launch Terminal, input the following command and press Enter: "sudo / Applications / TextEdit.app / Contents / MacOS / TextEdit / etc / hosts"
• Enter your administrator password if prompted.

• The TextEdit application will open the Hosts file. In the Hosts file, add "74.208.10.249 gs.apple.com" at the end (if you already have an online gs.apple.com, delete it), save the file and quit TextEdit

Đầu tiên bạn dùng ireb đưa iphone về DFU,rồi mở itunes lên bấm shift + restore rồi tìm fw 4.1 bấm vào thế là xog,để máy tự chạy.

Cắm cáp vào mở iReb lên chọn 3GS rồi bấm theo hướng dẫn trên màn hình đưa về DFU(Nếu đã đưa về DFU trước đó rồi thì bỏ qua bước này), iReb sẽ chạy cho tới khi xuất hiện thông báo trên màn hình, bạn tắt nó đi rồi mở iTunes lên nhấn đè nút Shift rồi dùng chuột nhấp vào chữ Restore, trỏ tới FW 4.1, iTunes sẽ tiến hành restore cho bạn.

While there is no arguing when it comes to the benefits of jailbreaking your iPhone, iPad & iPod touch, you have to admit that the process itself can be quite technical at times. It usually gets to a point that you are presented with a plethora of error screens and things become quite frustrating. Fortunately, there are tools and programs that we can use in order to lessen the frustration that comes with jailbreaking and one such tool is iH8sn0w's iREB. For a quick heads up, for the first time in 10 months, iREB gets an update.


In case you don't know, iREB is a small program that will let you bypass numerous iTunes error so that you can restore to a custom firmware. Under normal circumstances, if you try to restore to a custom firmware, your device's bootloader will know if you are using a stock IPSW or a custom one. If it detects that you are trying to restore to a custom firmware, the bootloader will tell iTunes not to restore the device thus the errors. You will need a tool like iREB to patch your iBoot with Geohot's Limera1n exploit.

The new version of iREB is simply called iREB 5 (r5). Below are the complete release notes:

As you can see, this new version of iREB doesn't offer anything new in terms of features but it does include some fixes and improvements. And of course, it should now be more compatible with iOS 5. Also, as expected, this doesn't work with the iPhone 4S and iPad 2 since there are no available bootrom exploit for both devices yet. Just like most of iH8sn0w's tools, iREB 5 is only available for the Windows OS. Download iREB 5 through the link provided below.
