While there is no arguing when it comes to the benefits of jailbreaking your iPhone,
iPad & iPod touch, you have to admit that the process itself can be quite technical at times. It usually gets to a point that you are presented with a plethora of error screens and things become quite frustrating. Fortunately, there are tools and programs that we can use in order to lessen the frustration that comes with jailbreaking and one such tool is iH8sn0w's iREB. For a quick heads up, for the first time in 10 months, iREB gets an update.

In case you don't know, iREB is a small program that will let you bypass numerous
iTunes error so that you can restore to a custom firmware. Under normal circumstances, if you try to restore to a custom firmware, your device's
bootloader will know if you are using a stock IPSW or a custom one. If it detects that you are trying to restore to a custom firmware, the bootloader will tell iTunes not to restore the device thus the errors. You will need a tool like iREB to patch your iBoot with Geohot's Limera1n exploit.

The new version of iREB is simply called

iREB r5 Release notes:

As you can see, this new version of iREB doesn't offer anything new in terms of features but it does include some fixes and improvements. And of course, it should now be more compatible with iOS 5. Also, as expected, this doesn't work with the
iPhone 4S and iPad 2 since there are no available bootrom exploit for both devices yet. Just like most of iH8sn0w's tools, iREB 5 is only available for the Windows OS. Download iREB 5 through the link provided below.
